Ilford Town Centre and Exchange Shopping Mall
Ilford was graced by a visit from Her Majesty the Queen on March 29, 2012 as a part of the Nationwide Tour being undertaken as a part of Her Diamond Jubilee Celebrations. She met residents at Valentine’s Park, overlooking the Hotel, while the sun beamed down on a very special day. She was accompanied by Prince Philip and was greeted by Council leaders and London Mayor Boris Johnson. Ilford offers a variety of cuisines through its numerous restaurants in and around the area.
Valentines Park and Mansion
Valentines Park is, at 52 hectares, the largest green space in the London Borough of Redbridge, between Ilford and Gants Hill. It was acquired in various purchases and gifts of land, starting in 1898 and culminating in the 1920s. Awarded with the Green Flag Status for 2010 & 2011, Valentines Park is a beautiful park to take a walk for some fresh air and greenery.
Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, in London, United Kingdom, is a sporting complex built for the 2012 Summer Olympics and the 2012 Summer Paralympics, situated to the east of the city adjacent to the Stratford City development.
